Behind the Scenes: MTV “Skins” Promo [ DianaLevine.com ]

Here are some behind-the-scenes photos from our MTV shoot this weekend for the upcoming American remake of SKINS. I was psyched to shoot this because the British versions of Skins is my guilty pleasure TV :) If you have Netflix Instant, you can check out the first 3 seasons. It was a really fun shoot, Matt was the cinematographer, and I shot the stills for the online campaign. It was awesome working with directors Kim Nguyen and Patrick Cummings, and always wonderful working with Caroline O’Hare. Everyone else on set was great, and the talent were all very patient and easy to work with, while we wrote all over their bodies and filmed them up close and personal ;) I can’t wait to see the spots air, and am really looking forward to seeing MTV’s American remake of Skins.

Behind the Scenes: MTV shoot [ DianaLevine.com ]

Here are some photos from our MTV shoot yesterday, a commercial for a new show called “The Ride.” It was a really fun day, I was the 2nd camera operator, and mainly shot on a 500mm lens. It was an early day in New Jersey (the last photo is our breakfast truck at the football field, as the sun came up), and while we were expecting it to rain the entire time, we ended up with blue skies the entire day. The commercial was directed by E.J. McLeavey-Fisher, cinematography by Matt Workman, and produced by Kris Walter. I never thought I’d feel so comfortable on a football field! This was our second (unrelated) football shoot this week. I love operating on the 500mm, it’s an incredible lens. One of the highlights of the day was playing with the Snorri-cam (the camera attached to the football player’s body). The footage looked really cool, and I can’t wait to see the spot when it airs. You can read more about the shoot on Matt’s blog here.

Here are a series of behind-the-scenes time lapses I shot this week for MTV’s commercial for Wii Just Dance 2 x Jersey Shore. They were shot over 12 hours, and edited into 3 minutes. It always amazes me how much happens during commercial shoots, so I love that the time lapse shows much energy and movement goes into each set up, and how many people it involves: director, producers, AD, grips, gaffers, cinematographer, PAs, art, make up, talent, ACs, and so many more. This shoot was directed by Howard Grandison, produced by Adam Palmer, and cinematographer by Matt (Matt Workman). It was a fun shoot, and Snooki and Ronnie from Jersey Shore were great.

Behind the Scenes: Fabolous shoot | DianaLevine.com

Last night, I shot photos for a promo for “Mr. R.I.P” forĀ Fabolous. The shoot was produced by By Any Means - Matt DP’d the video promo, which we shot first, and I shot the stills second. It was a really fun day/night - the weather was absolutely perfect. 60 degrees, sun shining down. It’s been awhile since I’ve felt that in NYC! Fab is always awesome to work with, such a warm, kind guy. It was an intense location to shoot in, and it was really an incredible space.

OnSmash posted all of the behind-the-scenes photos here, and you can also see them on the By Any Means blog here.

Here’s a pic of me and Fab a couple years ago. My favorite part: I’m wearing his Hebrew “Chai” necklace :)
